The purpose of this circular is to inform you about a Food and Drug Administration proposed rule making published in the Federal Register of February 11,
1972 (37 F.R. 3060) to withdraw its approval of diethyl pyrocarbonate for use in
the production of still wines, beer, noncarbonated soft drinks, and fruit-based
beverages. The notice as printed in the Federal Register is reproduced below.
