TTB Signs MOU with the Canadian Border Services Agency

On March 23, 2011, Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) Assistant Administrator, William H. Foster and the Director General of the Science and Engineering Directorate of the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA), Dianne Keller, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) intended to establish a consistent channel for information exchange regarding imported and exported alcohol and tobacco products.

The MOU, signed in Ottawa, Canada, also seeks to establish a consultative and collaborative process in order to strengthen cooperation in the prevention of counterfeiting and smuggling of alcohol and tobacco products, as well as in developing technical methodologies for supporting regulatory enforcement efforts.
