We've added a new resource to our labeling pages at TTB.gov!

We know the time needed to get TTB-approval for your alcohol beverage labels can affect the timeline for getting your products into the marketplace.  You've told us you want as much up-to-date information as possible about how long you can expect it to take to get your label applications processed to help you manage your internal processes and plans.

Well, we heard your concerns and we're happy to announce our new Processing Times for Label Applications page. View this page check the Current Label Processing Times chart, which shows up-to-date processing information for alcohol beverage label applications.

The Processing Times for Label Applications page is updated daily so you get the most current information possible. 

You might want to bookmark this page for quick access, but you can also find links to this resource from many other pages at TTB.gov, including the Labeling Home Page and the Labeling Resources Page. You can also sign up to receive email notifications when we update the page.

Reading the Chart

View the actual chart at our Processing Times for Label Applications page. We've included the mock chart below to illustrate how we've organized the current label processing times information.

*New applications are those we have not yet reviewed. However, electronic applications resubmitted for correction always takes priority over new applications.

  • Application Type — We list the processing times for label applications by commodity, i.e., distilled spirits, malt beverages, and wine.

  • Average Label Processing Time (Calendar Days) — This column gives the average number of days it takes to process your application, from the time we receive it until we either approve or reject it. This includes any time spent sending electronic applications back and forth for correction.

    • Regulations allow TTB up to 90 calendar days to process label applications (see 27 CFR 13.21(b)).

  • Today We are Processing New Applications Received On — If you originally submitted your application after the date posted in this column, we have NOT performed our initial review of it yet.
