FDA Issues Guidance Document on Training Programs for Tobacco Retailers

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently announced a guidance document for tobacco retailers titled Tobacco Retailer Training Programs (PDF).  This guidance document is intended to assist retailers in implementing training programs for employees to learn about and comply with the federal laws and regulations restricting the sale and distribution of, including youth access to, cigarettes and smokeless tobacco, as well as the advertising and promotion of these tobacco products, according to the FDA's Center for Tobacco Products.

Learn more about this guidance document at the Tobacco Retailer Training Programs page at FDA.gov/

For information on how to send comments to the FDA on the guidance document, see the FDA's September 5, 2013 Federal Register notice: Guidance for Tobacco Retailers on Tobacco Retailer Training.
