Greetings! This week’s top news includes that registration is now open for 2019 trade practice seminars, Nick Colucci and Marc Young have joined the TTB leadership team, and an announcement about alcohol trade continuity agreements signed by the US and UK in preparation for Brexit.

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN FOR 2019 TRADE PRACTICE SEMINARS

Have you ever wondered why we keep mentioning inducement when we're talking about trade practices? Are you concerned that you may be operating in violation of the tied-house rules? Should you be? What exactly are consignment sales anyway?

Come learn all this and more as we present half-day Trade Practice Seminars geared towards alcohol beverage industry members or their representatives.

Officials from the applicable state regulatory agencies will also be there to talk about trade practice enforcement from their state's perspective.

To register, click on the appropriate link below and follow the instructions on the registration page. Registration will close when we reach capacity, or one week prior to the seminar, whichever comes first. Space will be limited, so be sure to register soon!

NOTE: The morning and afternoon sessions are identical. Please only register for one

UNITED STATES SIGNS WINE AND DISTILLED SPIRITS CONTINUITY AGREEMENTS WITH THE UK

On January 31, 2019, the United States and the United Kingdom (UK) signed two agreements covering wine and distilled spirits to ensure there is no disruption in trade of these products when the UK leaves the European Union (EU) and is no longer covered by the existing agreements between the United States and the EU on those commodities. TTB worked with the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) on the negotiation of these agreements, and will continue to work with USTR on any further negotiations with the UK.

See the USTR press release for additional details.
