Our four laboratories under the Scientific Services Division (SSD) — the Beverage Alcohol Laboratory, Nonbeverage Products Laboratory, Tobacco Laboratory, and Compliance Laboratory — have successfully achieved two year ISO 17025 re-accreditation from the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA), an ISO accreditation body in the United States. As part of the re-accreditation process, an A2LA auditor conducted on-site audits at our laboratories which are located in Beltsville, Maryland and Walnut Creek, California.
Through ISO 17025 accreditation, TTB’s laboratories achieve third party recognition of their quality data and results. ISO accreditation promotes recognition and respect for our laboratories’ technical competence by industry and other agencies, both nationally and internationally.
